这几个形容词都可以用来表示人或物在品质、性质、行为等方面是“坏的”或“差”的意思，其区别在于：
bad 指人或物的品质或质量是“坏的”、“低劣的”、“恶的”或“有害的”等意思。例如：
The soldier was badly wounded in the stomach and he felt bad.
那个战士腹部受了重伤，所以他觉得很难受。
It is bad to speak ill of others.说别人的坏话是不好的。
Smoking is bad for the health.吸烟有害健康。
ill 主要用来说明人的身体是“有病的”、“不健康的”等意思，在句中多用作表语；但也可表示物质的性质状况，意思和bad一样；还可修饰事，表示质量“拙劣的”、“不良的”、“坏的”、“麻烦的”、“难以处理的”。例如：
She was ill bed.她卧病在床。
ill temper坏脾气
ill will仇恨，存心不良
He is a man of ill fame.他是个恶名昭彰的人。
He corrected his ill habits.他改正了坏习惯。
They have ill feeling toward him.他们对他怀有敌意。
poor 指人的生活情况是“贫苦的”，含有缺乏财富的意味。指物质的质量是“低劣的”意思。语气比bad较轻，也有“已故”的意思。例如：
I have a poor memory.我的记忆不好。
I am poor at mathematics.我的数学很差。
The poor little girl began to cry.那可怜的小女孩哭了起来。
my poor old mother我的已故老母
evil 主要用来指人的心灵或生活是“邪恶的”、“不善的”；或指消息等是“不幸的”、“不吉利的”。例如：
He is leading an evil life.他过着邪恶的生活。
I received evil news.我接到噩耗。
wrong 指在道德上“不好”、“不对”，或做事情是“错的”。还可指机器等“有故障的”、“不对劲的”。例如：
It was wrong of you to tell a lie.你说谎是不对的。
I took the wrong train.我搭错了火车。
Something is wrong with the engine.引擎有点不对劲。
