　　This may be the saddest opera ever written, but it is also well up there among the top 4 or 5 most beautiful, most ravishing operas ever written. I would think that anybody who, for instance, who has enjoyed a film like the extraordinary “Lives of Others”, who can take something that moves with immense weight, drama and thoughtfulness – would love this.
